Birthday Cake Playdough

L is turning 5 on January 31 and I am still in shock that he's turning 5! Time is flying. We been busy working on the last few preparations for his family birthday party on Sunday. The kids have been enjoying playing with Birthday Cake Play dough.
Birthday Cake Play Dough (not edible)

2 cups hot water
1 cup salt
1 Tbsp oil
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 drops yellow food coloring
2 cups all purpose flour
Sprinkles
Add all the ingredients except the flour and sprinkles to a microwave safe bowl and mix. Then add the flour and mix well. I microwave the play dough in 1 minute  increments mixing each time. It normally takes 3-5 min. When it reaches a dough like consistency  sprinkle with a little extra flour let cool. Then knead in sprinkles and play.
This is the same as our sugar cookie play dough with sprinkles added to the dough.

The sprinkles that I used started to dissolve and made the dough sticky after a couple of uses I added some cornstarch and that seemed to help.
For playing I set out sprinkles, candles, and cupcake wrappers.
The boys were very excited to use real sprinkles!
