Happy Lemonade Play Dough

So we were all under the weather last week and it was rainy and gloomy. So I wanted to set up a happy fun play dough activity for the boys. I made lemonade play dough and presented the boys with a set up of fun play dough accessories.

 Lemonade Scented Play dough

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups hot water
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 Tbsp cream or tartar
1 packet Kool Aid lemonade mix
Glitter
Yellow food coloring
Mix all ingredients well in microwave safe dish. Microwave in one minute increments stirring well in between. Normally takes 3-5 min to get play dough consistency. Let cool and knead.

I set out balloons (these are the ones meant for water balloons so they are smaller), pom poms. buttons, straws, pipe cleaners and a few play dough tools.

Play dough is always a big hit around here and the boys had fun exploring. The balloons added a little more fun and sensory play. My boys are pretty good with balloons and know if one pops to put it in the trash. Just make sure you supervise kids with balloons and throw out and broken ones.
