This year I displayed our holiday cards by clipping them to a strand of multi-colored Christmas lights with clothes pins.
All of our other Christmas decorations were put away the week after Christmas. I kept the cards up since I liked looking at them. I finally decided that I was time to take them down. I left up the lights and thought it would be fun to pin up some hearts and change it to a Valentines garland.I folded paper and made half heart outlines. I also added stickers, oil pastels, bingo dabbers, markers and glitter glue.
The boys picked out a heart cut it out and decorated it.
You can adapt this for younger kid by pre-cutting the hearts.
The stickers that we used were the colored dot stickers you can get from the office supply area.
This activity uses a lot of fine motor skills- cutting, drawing, peeling stickers, bingo dabbers and squeezing the glitter glue.
We made a bunch of hearts.
E came up with the idea for making a caterpillar.
I pinned up our hearts with clothespins. These are LED lights and they do not get hot.
I love the light garland idea! Christams lights really can be made pretty all year round!
