Edible Sculptures

Yesterday was daddy's birthday so the boys were busy making lots of yummy treats. Mommy was a able to sneak some fine motor practice in to our treat making. We made edible sculptures and a birthday cake.
For our edible sculptures we used regular sized marshmallows, peppermint mini marshmallows, Fruity Cheerios and toothpicks. I put a selection of each item on a plate and told them to create sculptures.

They had a lot of fun making things- Here is a dumbbell.

Then the boys decided they wanted to save these as a surprise for Daddy's Birthday so I brought them a plate and they kept creating.

We also baked and decorate a cake for daddy. I didn't take any pictures of baking the cake we used a yellow cake mix. The boys decorated the cake with chocolate frosting and m&m's.

First we sorted out the green M&M's since green is Daddy's favorite color and this adds sorting and fine motor practice.

 Frost the cake.
 Decorate

Happy Birthday! The boys were having so much fun getting ready to surprise Daddy for his birthday they also made cards and made up party games.
