New Year's Countdown Sensory Bin

We had a very fun and busy Christmas.  Now I've busy trying to make room for all our new presents and hitting up the after Christmas sales. I was trying to think of a sensory bin to make for New Year's and thought I could incorporate some number puzzles to represent the New Year's countdown. Today I made this New Year's count down bin that has been a big hit with the boys.

I put the numbers from 2 number puzzles in the bottom of a bin. The puzzles above is from the Dollar Tree and below is from Michael's.

Then I cut up some Holographic icicles I picked up on clearance at the Dollar Tree.

I also added some short pieces of curling ribbon and some slightly inflated balloons. Always supervise your child around balloons and promptly discard any popped balloons.

Time to play I place the empty puzzles next to the bins and the boys dug through to find the pieces.

This is similar to our Alphabet dig.

  2. Very cute! I wasn't planning to do any "school" this week, but my son asked what kind of school work we were going to do for New Year's, so this would be perfect.
