The boys have been enjoying playing with our DIY light table and I thought it would be fun to experiment with painting on the light table.
I taped some parchment paper to the light table. Our parchment paper was a manilla color I wanted to try using it because its more translucent then regular paper. Its non stick quality made the paint bead up a little. This was more about the process of experimenting so it worked ok.
I also gave the boys primary colored washable tempera paint and brushes.
They really liked painting on the light table.
We also tried using regular paper and that worked fine too the light didn't shine through as much but it still had a neat effect.
This is a fun idea! My son loves to paint, and he would be enamored with the lights (so I'm going to read how you made the light table next).
ReplyDeleteFun! I really need to get around to making this light table...but that means emptying a large tote or buying a new one. haha!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the DIY light box idea, I need to try it..and what a great idea to paint on it! Thanks for sharing at Thrifty Thursday!! Hope you had a fantastic Holiday Season!
ReplyDeleteI wonder to, for the older kids, if it might not be fun to place a Xerox copy of a picture so it shows through the picture/light and they are able to create the same picture themselves....better yet....enlarge the picture and they could create a room poster of their favorite picture, etc.
